With over 315 people eligible to use the golf course, the board asks all members and their guests to use consideration for others so that a round of golf will be enjoyable. Simple courtesy on everyone’s part would eliminate the need for most rules, but to summarize their requests:
1. Don’t play slowly. A round should be completed in under 4 hours. Specifically:
Be ready to play when it is your turn.
Please take no more than one practice swing, prior to addressing your ball.
Walk off the green promptly after holing out.
Let faster groups play through. If you have an open hole in front of you, you must let the group behind through (and they must play through).
Plan your shot while walking to your ball or while others are playing.
Line up your putt when others are putting and be ready to play when it is your turn.
Walk briskly between shots.
Walk directly to your golf ball; don’t follow others unless assisting in a search.
If riding, take several clubs with you to your ball so you won’t have to walk back to the cart.
Don’t step off or measure yardage for every single golf shot, develop an “eye” for distance.
Be efficient with pre-shot routine.
Take only one practice swing.
Play a provisional ball if you think the original might be lost outside a water hazard or out of bounds.
Leave your clubs on the side of the putting green towards the next tee.
Exit putting green promptly after holing out.
Unless experienced, play the standard tees, not the championship tees.
2. Respect the course:
Follow cart directional signs. Do not drive carts past ropes. Also, regardless of signs, please keep at least 50 feet from greens and traps. If you must cross a fairway, do so at 90 degrees.
Please repair ball pitch marks on the green.
Please replace all divots and on the tees use the seed and soil mixture to fill your divots.
Please dispose of trash in receptacles. This includes cellophane wrappers which tend to blow out of cart compartments.
Smokers – please don’t drop or place burning cigarettes or cigars on the greens. The heat kills the grass. Also, please remember that filters do not biodegrade, so, put butts into the trash receptacles.
All carts must utilize the 90 degree rule when not in the rough, keep off apron, (50 feet from the green).
Rules of play: leave course in better shape than when you arrived.
USGA rules govern play except where modified by local rules.
